Feeling much thirsty after having Idli/Dosa. here's the reason..

We, people of South India are very fond of Idli, Dosa kinda food for Breakfast and Dinner.

But, have you realised that we feel more thirsty than usual, when we consume Idli/Dosa??

Yess.. If you are on a high protein diet, chances are you may feel dehydrated. The body uses up more water in order to metabolize the naturally occurring nitrogen in protein, due to which cells may lose water content significantly, further making you feel dehydrated.

To break down protein, the body needs water. This means that excess protein consumption makes you thirsty. The kidneys, which break down protein, will pull water from elsewhere in the body to keep up with the extra protein. So even if you are on a high protein diet, make sure you are loading yourself with more water content. STAY HYDRATED BY KNOWING THE REASON!!
