“The effect of Curd rice, puts me to sleep now..”..haha..a MYTH ACTUALLY

Curd - GOD's gift. The curd makes us sleepy?? Absolutely not..

True to an extent.....But not sleepy..Instead, a feeling of Satisfaction.

Yesss.. curd releases an amino acid called TRYPTOPHAN which gives us a feel of “Satisfaction”.

Indians alone take Curd as Curd. But, western countries take it as Yogurt, which has got Sugar too. But, the sugar, in it, will not calm our Brain. It increases Blood Glucose level and will put us more restless. Sugar is danger for the balance of Neural activity and triggers HYPER ACTIVITY.

But Curd rice is the only food which can release Tryptophan in the Brain, which calms down and brings a cool-thinking, and our neurons are recharged with a mild rest. I personally feel over-satisfied when i finish my meal with Curd!!! Yum Yumm!!

An Interesting fact: Tryptophan is derived from a Sanskrit word. You believe it !!!!!!!! It sounds “Thrupthophan” and Thrupthi means Satisfaction.

TIP: Curd contains plenty of Tryptophan, that can calm our mind. Although, eating proteinaceous food alone, is unlikely to effectively calm our mind, due to its insufficient tryptophan content. Eating carbohydrates and proteins in the same meal (in form of Curd rice), increases the Bio-availability of tryptophan to the brain.

(Bio-availability - the actual nutrient available to be absorbed by our body).
